Walkthrough

39 seconds inside the simulator.

A trade from capture to approval, on synthetic data. Choose a moment below to jump to it.

What happens in the video

  1. Home shows your work queue, learning progress and the practice desk.

  2. A GB power physical fixed-price trade: sell 20 MW for delivery on 23 October 2026 to the GB transmission network.

  3. Choose the book, counterparty and agreement and enter £86/MWh. The preview works out 480 MWh and £41,280 to receive.

  4. The draft shows 48 half-hour delivery intervals. Submitted, trade TRD-0001 waits for the Trading Approver.

  5. The “Your first deal” lesson explains MW and MWh, and how the numbers are worked out — including clock-change days.

  6. The proposals list and the Guide show where the trade is and what comes next: approval, then execution.

  7. Recent activity on Home records the submitted proposal.

The approach

Four steps, every scenario.

Every scenario follows the same pattern, so most of your time goes on the task itself — and on checking what happened.

  1. 01

    Understand the workflow

Each scenario opens with a short lesson or role guide: what the process is for, who's involved, and which data and controls it relies on.

  2. 02

    Use prepared synthetic data

Teaching market profiles, counterparties, agreements, limits and prices are already in place. Realistic, but invented — not live market data or exchange products.

  3. 03

    Complete the task

Capture a trade, submit it, approve or reject it, and watch the controls respond as you go.

  4. 04

    Inspect the outcome

See what happened and why in positions, control results and the audit trail. Then reset your sandbox and try another path.

Scope

Products, workflows and what’s next.

Explore power, gas, oil, LNG, swaps, futures and options using synthetic data. Availability varies by product and workflow as we continue to expand the simulator.

Products and markets

Explore physical power and gas, oil parcels and pipeline oil, fixed-price LNG cargoes, swaps, futures and options.

Teaching profiles include GB and German power; UK NBP, Netherlands TTF and Henry Hub-style gas; PJM-style US power; international and US pipeline oil; and international LNG cargoes.

These are synthetic teaching profiles, not exchange-listed products or live market data. Some actions and end-to-end workflows may be incomplete or unavailable as coverage expands.

Built

Working in the current version
  • Physical power and gas

Practise trade capture, approval, delivery and settlement with supported power and gas teaching profiles.

  • Pre-trade controls with reasons

Counterparty status and restrictions, agreements, price bands, credit reservations, position limits and duplicate warnings — plus time-limited credit exceptions granted by an approver.

  • Confirmations, delivery and settlement

Confirmations and disputes, delivery plans and metered actuals, invoices, credit and debit notes, payments with netting, journals and cashflows. Payments and cash are simulated.

  • Positions, valuation and daily close

Physical positions by delivery month, valuation and P&L on a synthetic price feed, and a daily close signed off by an approver.

  • Twelve roles to practise

Switch between trader, approver, credit, risk, operations, settlement and other roles to see the same trade from each seat.

  • Lessons and practice exercises

Short lessons with quizzes, learning paths, role guides, a glossary and practice exercises with checkpoints. Practice only — not a certification.

  • Built-in Guide

Step-by-step help and glossary lookups inside the workspace. It is scripted, not AI.

  • Reports, audit trail and reset

Trade blotter and audit trail with CSV export, and a sandbox reset so you can repeat a scenario from a clean state.
